Patio Heaters

Outdoor patio heaters are one of the essentials if you really plan on getting the most from your patio space. Here are some things you should know about patio heaters, as well as some tips on where you can pick up and outdoor patio heater at a bargain price.

The basic purpose of a patio heater is to allow for the use of the patio space even when the weather is beginning to cool somewhat. Patio heaters may use one of several different heating mediums as the fuel for the outdoor heater. For example, you may choose to go with an outdoor patio wood heater. This option is a great one, since there is nothing like the aroma of burning wood to make a space inviting. If you are not into stoking a heater with wood, then you want to go with one of the outdoor electric heaters. The advantage of electric patio heaters is that they will start to work on heating the space quickly and can be stored during those months when you do not require any type of heat for the patio. You can also get electric table patio heaters that can be set up with very little trouble. Table top patio heaters are especially good for small patio spaces where you do not want a permanent patio heater solution, such as with an apartment patio.

Along with the electric table top patio heaters, you can also choose to go with a gas patio heater. Outdoor heaters that rely on natural gas will of course require the installation of a gas jet on your patio. The advantage is that gas burns cleanly, experiences less interruptions in service than electricity, and provides a nice visual flame to go along with the heat, which can help the space to be more inviting. If you prefer to not install a gas jet, then there is always the option of propane patio heaters that come with their own tank. You can set these units in place and enjoy them all winter, then store them away until the cool weather returns.

There are also outdoor tankless water heater designs that will use the warmth of the water to take some of the chill off the patio area. These will rely heavily on the ability to generate enough hot water to make an impact on the space, and really do not offer much in the way of visual esthetics or the comfort of backing up to a heat source. Still, they are relatively unobtrusive, so if that is what you are going for, it might be the ideal solution.
